Nantasket Beach Bikes was founded in 2010 -- we just completed our 6th season in operation! We are a bike-rental business only (for a bike shop, visit our friends at Anderson Bicycle in Weymouth for great service.)
The town of Hull has always been a destination for nature enthusiasts, but until now, if you wanted to explore the pennisula by bicycle, you would need to bring your own. Now you don't have to worry about transporting your equipment when you visit for a few hours, a day, a weekend or more.
Biking along the beach, bay and throughout the neighborhoods and villages of Hull is always a wonderful experience. Fantastic views welcome you around every corner. The dynamic complexion of the bay and ocean is constantly changing, offering a new experience with every ride you take. From the flat roads running along the ocean and bay to the seven hills of Hull with their panoramic views of Boston Harbor and beyond, biking through this seaside community is an experience not to be missed.
Whether you're catching the sunrise over the ocean, the sun setting over Boston, or any time in between, Hull is always a treat for the senses!
A sailboat passes through the Hull "gut" as it glides back towards its mooring in Hull, with Peddock's Island looming beyond.
Spectacular sunsets are the norm in Hull. In the summer the sun sets behind the Boston skyline. In this scene Peddock's Island is on the left, sitting just one quarter mile across the Hull 'gut' from the very end of Hull, also known as Pemberton Point or Windmill Point.
FUN FACT: Peddocks Island was used as a filming location for the 2010 movie "Shutter Island" starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Duing the film's shoot here (summer 2008) Hull High School was used by the cast and crew as a make-shift movie studio.
